Every 13th of February 2022 is Radio Day, the day is dedicated to honouring the oldest and the most widening used means of communication.⠀

It is important to note that the radio is a powerful medium used for empowering women and girls and protecting their rights across the country.⠀

Radio has been used as a tool to empower the underrepresented in the societies like the female gender by campaigning against female genital mutilation, child marriage, child labour which has continually shaped a society’s experience of diversity to promote gender equality.⠀

As a women rights advocate, on different times and occasions, I have engaged the usage of radio as a tool to promote girls and women empowerment and protection of their rights.⠀

It’s important to note that the radio station also provides an important space for the empowerment of women continues to be a tool for advocacy⠀

We will continue to work to foster positive dialogue for the empowerment of girls and women and to address the challenges we all face.⠀
